POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer (PE) with a minimum of 1 year of experience in Commercial Construction and at least 1 year of expertise in HVAC systems. The successful candidate will support the Project Managers (PM) in managing subcontractors and suppliers for various projects while collaborating closely with the Superintendent. This role is essential in ensuring that all contracted work adheres to the company's standards, including contract specifications, budgetary constraints, project timelines, safety protocols, quality assurance, and client satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist PMs in project execution and effectively communicate with stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Engage in the design development process to optimize construction methods, aiming to reduce time and costs.
  • Establish and uphold project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations on all job sites to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the submittal process, negotiate change orders, and ensure contract adherence.
  • Foster effective relationships to promote a collaborative team environment.
  • Provide cost estimates for changes in project scope.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in HVAC or the Mechanical Contracting sector.
  • A degree in mechanical engineering or construction management is preferred.
  • Experience in design-build and job site operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents such as blueprints and specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction practices is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficient in managing subcontractors and vendors.
  • Capability to negotiate and manage change orders.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Project Management software.
