Are you passionate about contributing to national security efforts? Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Operations Staff Members within the Full Mission Profile Exercise (FMPX) Program. This role involves supporting the Marine Special Operations Team (MSOT) and the Marine Raider Regiment (MRR) of the U.S. Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC), ensuring that all personnel engaged in training and exercises are prepared to the highest standards for deployment in Joint Operating Environments.

The Operations Staff Member will collaborate with active-duty Marines, Sailors, and other service members, both within and outside the organization. You will assist the FMPX Staff Lead (FMPX-SL) and the unit training and operations section by employing Joint Network Analysis & Targeting (JNAT) methods, an Agile program management approach, and the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate (ADDIE) instructional design model. Coordination with various stakeholders, including program managers and training chiefs, is essential to ensure alignment of training materials and methods with established objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the FMPX & JNAT-SL, unit Operations and Training Chiefs, course managers, and internal analysts to enhance the unit training management program and curricular activities.
  • Assist in the planning and design of training exercises, educational events, and evaluation methods.
  • Support and assess individual and collective training across the FMPX program.
  • Work with students and subject matter experts to identify training needs based on Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and pre-deployment requirements.
  • Facilitate exercises and classroom training in both garrison and field environments.
  • Receive training as a JNAT Instructor and support JNAT courses post-training.
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and facilitators.
  • Act as a Range Safety Officer when required.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in instructional design theories and practices.
  • Experienced in analytical and evaluative methods for conducting studies and analyzing findings.
  • Previous experience supporting U.S. Marine Special Operations Command units and formal training schools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of discretion in collaborative environments.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting with strong attention to detail.
  • Five years of relevant experience, including prior roles as a USMARSOC instructor or in a related field.
  • Experience in conducting assessments and performance evaluations.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and instructional development activities is preferred.
  • Experience in multinational and Joint Operations is required; Joint Special Operations experience is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Work will primarily occur in a garrison environment, with routine field/tactical assignments.
  • Extended working hours may be necessary.
  • Typical schedule: Monday to Friday, 0700 to 1700, with some reverse operations.

Travel Requirements

  • Domestic travel may be necessary for training and program coordination, up to 15-25%.
