HVAC Commissioning Specialist

JCM Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled HVAC Commissioning Specialist to join our team in commercial mechanical construction projects at Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
We are a leading provider of commercial HVAC and plumbing services throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region, working with premier owners, developers, contractors, vendors, and manufacturers in the industry.
As a HVAC Commissioning Specialist, you will be responsible for start-up, commission, maintenance, and service of industrial/commercial HVAC systems and plumbing equipment. You will troubleshoot and locate malfunctions, diagnose problems, and determine appropriate repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start-up, commission, maintain, and service industrial/commercial HVAC systems and plumbing equipment.
- Utilize laptops/tablets to document startup and commissioning forms required per project specifications.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, models, and/or verbal and written instructions.
- Prove mechanical and plumbing systems being controlled by building automation systems to third-party Commissioning firms.
- Share partial supervision of NEBB Tab contractor and respond to punch-listed equipment.
- Interface and coordinate activities with ATC sub-contractor.
- Service and repair evaporators, condensers, and receivers. Repack valves, lubricate moving parts, replace filters, and clean coils.
- Adjust, repair, or replace thermostats, relays, switches, and electrical wiring.
- Repair or replace compressors and components, electric motors, fans, belts, and pulleys.
- Maintain refrigerate inventory and consumption logs.
- Follow established safety procedures and utilize safety protective equipment and clothing pertaining to trades or skills.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by direct manager.
- Complete some minor copper tubing; cut and thread pipe; make pipe and low-voltage connections.
- Provide proper methods of storing and maintaining tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly condition.
- Meet schedules and timelines.
- Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
- Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
- Teach and instruct helper on the installation of a HVAC system.
Requirements:
- CFC/Universal License
- 5 years of experience building commercial mechanical projects or equipment
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
- Ability to read, understand, and work from drawings, specifications, and schematics
- Understand written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Attendance, reliability, dependability, and flexibility
- Ability to interact with multiple personality types while ensuring a positive outcome
Incentives/Benefits:
- Excellent compensation ($82,000 - $104,000 per year)
- Daily Per Diem Paid (Travel, Housing & Meal expenses covered) Per Diem for qualified applicants traveling in excess of 70 miles per day.
