Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAT Scan Technologist to join our team at Mcare Agency LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and special procedure imaging, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting radiologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and special procedure imaging using CAT scan equipment
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including proper documentation and positioning
  • Assist radiologists during procedures as needed
  • Process images and CDs as required
  • Adhere to established radiology standards of care and principles of radiation protection
  • Assume responsibility for assigned areas and duties
  • Perform quality assurance tasks and calibrations
  • Attend staff meetings and inservices
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program
  • NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required
  • ARRT registered (RT) and radiograph (R) and/or (CT) certified
  • Documented training and experience in operating CT equipment and radiation physics and protection
  • Passing advanced CT examination/certification within 1 year from date of hire
  • Continuing education requirements to meet standards set forth by governing bodies

Work Environment

The CAT Scan Technologist will work in a fast-paced radiology department, interacting with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time and will frequently move and position patients for exams.

The person in this position will be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks, and any hazardous chemicals will be listed in the hospital's SDS database.
