Job Overview

Position: Pet Boarding Specialist

Employment Type: Part-Time / Full-Time

Compensation: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Reports to: Operations Manager / General Manager

We are seeking dedicated individuals for morning and evening shifts.

The Pet Boarding Specialist will ensure outstanding care for the pet guests at Bay Paws Pet Resort, focusing on both Dog Daycare and Boarding services. This role is vital in creating a safe, enjoyable, and interactive environment for our furry guests while maintaining their health and well-being. Effective communication with the management team is essential to relay information regarding the pets' experiences, behaviors, and specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the daily schedule for pets, including feeding, activities, grooming, and daycare.
  • Providing comprehensive care for all pet guests, which includes feeding, cleaning, administering medication, and communicating with pet parents.
  • Preparing for the arrival and departure of pets in Boarding and/or Daycare.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of pets during all activities.
  • Adhering to cleaning and sanitation protocols for all areas.
  • Following all policies and procedures established by Bay Paws Pet Resort.
  • Exceeding expectations by delivering knowledgeable and compassionate care to all pets.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in Boarding and Daycare facilities.
  • Promoting healthy pet care practices throughout the resort.
  • Complying with the employee dress code for the Pet Boarding Specialist role.
  • Transporting pets for veterinary care when necessary.
  • Completing any additional tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in pet care, preferably in a boarding or veterinary setting.
  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience, ideally in sales, retail, or pet care environments.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic counting for documentation and reporting.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for 90% of the workday.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to manage pets during relocation within the facility.
