About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Assistant to join our team at CarMax. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and working in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary

The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for assisting with customer transfers, lot merchandising, securing vehicles, and collaborating with the Merchandising team to complete daily functions. Additionally, they will perform quality and timely imaging of Retail and Wholesale vehicles for CarMax websites and work closely with Inventory and Sales Departments on lot staging as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging and Securing Vehicles: Complete high-quality images of Retail and Wholesale vehicles for CarMax websites and ensure accurate information is entered into appraisal systems.
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Lot Merchandising: Assist with maintaining the appearance of the sales floor, including arranging vehicles and ensuring signage is up-to-date.
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with Inventory and Sales Departments to ensure accurate inventory levels and efficient lot management.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using computer software and equipment to complete job responsibilities.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions

The Purchasing Assistant will primarily work in an outdoor environment, which may include exposure to inclement weather conditions. They must be able to adapt to changing situations and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Salary and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of $18.10 - $29.10 per hour, depending on experience. In addition, employees are eligible for benefits, including sick leave, vacation time, and Floating Holiday Time.
