Job Summary

The Baltimore County Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Administrator to serve as an Assistant Principal at one of our elementary schools. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong educational background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the school principal and contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and programs.
  • Supervise and evaluate teachers and staff to ensure high-quality instruction and student achievement.
  • Coordinate and implement school-wide initiatives and projects, such as curriculum development and professional development for teachers.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and assessments.
  • Monitor and analyze student data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to build strong relationships and promote a positive school culture.
  • Assist with budgeting and financial management to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal or central office administrators.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution with relevant coursework in educational leadership or a related field.
  • Four years of teaching experience, preferably in an elementary school setting.
  • Valid Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate with Administrator I endorsement or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of educational theory, research, and best practices in instructional leadership.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Working Conditions

The Assistant Principal will work in a school environment and may be required to attend evening meetings and weekend activities. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate a commitment to student success and educational excellence.
