Instructional Leader for Continuous School Improvement

Baltimore County Public Schools is seeking an experienced Instructional Leader to join our team as an Assistant Principal at Scotts Branch Elementary School. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead and support the school's mission and curriculum implementation.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will provide instructional leadership, support, and supervision to teachers, staff, and students. They will assist in planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating school programs and activities, ensuring that they align with the school's mission and goals. This role requires a strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development of curriculum and instructional materials that align with the school's mission and goals.
- Assist in planning and implementing school programs and activities that promote student learning and achievement.
- Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers, focusing on effective instructional practices and strategies.
- Supervise and evaluate the effectiveness of teachers and staff, providing constructive feedback and coaching as needed.
- Assist in coordinating the instructional program of the school, working closely with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure student success.
- Monitor and assess student achievement and participation outcomes, using data to inform instruction and improve student learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Assist in maintaining attendance procedures and ensuring that students are accounted for and engaged in learning activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal, such as coordinating events, managing budgets, and maintaining records.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A master's degree in education or a related field, with a focus on leadership, pedagogy, and supervision.
- At least four years of outstanding teaching experience, with a proven track record of student achievement and growth.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and the community.
- A valid Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate with an Administrator I endorsement.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will be eligible for a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
