Position Overview
As a Manufacturing Intern, you will receive training in the installation of aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and composite materials. This internship offers practical experience and insight into the general aviation manufacturing sector.

This opportunity will enhance your educational journey and broaden your understanding of aviation as a field of interest, particularly for those pursuing careers in manufacturing and aviation.

You will engage with a diverse range of real-world scenarios and applications, playing a crucial role in the assembly and creation of leading general aviation aircraft.

This internship is part of the Cirrus JET (Job Education Training) initiative.


Key Responsibilities:
(Responsibilities may vary based on internship location)
1. Inspecting and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and composite materials.
2. Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to install, connect, or bond aircraft parts using various methods.
3. Ensuring that fit, clearance, alignment, and functional performance meet design specifications.
4. Preparing and utilizing fixtures to assist in the positioning, bonding, or drilling of aircraft components.
5. Routing wire harnesses according to specifications.
6. Working with adhesives to bond aircraft parts.
7. Engaging in welding and machining of metal components.

Qualifications:

Current high school juniors or seniors are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have completed at least two courses related to manufacturing and/or aviation. A background in mechanical skills is preferred but not mandatory.

Applicants must be capable of following and executing work instructions accurately.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment and lift varying weights repeatedly.

Additional Requirements:

Interns will work 8-10 hours per week over 2-3 days. Availability during morning hours is required. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Applicants must be on track to graduate and be at least 16 years old at the time of hire.
