Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimating Engineer to join our team at SDI Element Logic. As a key member of our sales and engineering team, you will be responsible for providing detailed cost estimates for large material handling system integration projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the budget process by coordinating with internal project teams and external vendors to develop detailed cost estimates for material handling system integration projects.
  • Coordinate with internal project teams and external vendors to develop preliminary project schedules.
  • Develop high-level rough order of magnitude pricing for material handling system integration projects leveraging rules of thumb and historical data.
  • Analyze, interpret, and make deductions based on historical pricing and previous project data.
  • Create RFQs for equipment and services to solicit bids from vendors.
  • Present project budgets to sales and leadership.
  • Maintain awareness of current market conditions that affect pricing and lead times.
  • Review RFP documentation, quotes, drawings, and other relevant documents in detail.
  • Lead the hand-off of project budgets to implementation team.
  • Assist sales teams with creation of sales proposals and presentations as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: 4-year / BS Degree in Engineering, Business, or similar field.
  • Experience: Preferred 2+ years' experience in project cost estimating, project controls, procurement, project management, or engineering.
  • Valid passport.
  • US valid visa is desirable.
