Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Estimator II to join our team at IEA Management Services. As an Estimator II, you will be responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data for use in estimates and preparing routine estimates under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned project divisions
  • Complete assignments within agreed-upon time frames
  • Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier quotations or scheduling input as required
  • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management purposes
  • Participate in plan review and estimate reviews for respective projects
  • Assist in compiling historical cost data for projects
  • Confirm lists of subcontractors/suppliers proposing on the project
  • Collaborate with Architects/Engineers to request clarifications or additional information
  • Attend project meetings and perform site investigations as assigned
  • Become familiar with all estimating software
Lead Estimator Designation
  • Supervise and line out all people on the bid team, providing adequate information and establishing bidding schedules with deadlines
  • Assure successful kick-off meetings, mid-bid reviews, and final reviews
  • Coordinate with other departments according to established policy
  • Review and understand owner-provided specifications and documentation for all portions of the work
  • Perform final reviews according to established policy
  • Review all work performed by team members
  • Critically analyze each aspect of the estimate to ensure a competitive bid
Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating, Engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience
  • Three years of estimating or project management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Estimating Software
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, or governmental regulations
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
