Position Overview: Works closely with senior members of the public relations team to implement goals and strategies detailed in the client's public relations plan. This position emphasizes media relations and provides support for client interactions and administrative tasks as necessary. Under the guidance of their supervisor, the Account Executive will oversee 1-2 smaller accounts or projects, including pro-bono initiatives. Candidates must possess experience in financial public relations.
Office Attendance Requirements:
- For candidates based in New Jersey: Required to be present in the New Jersey office twice a week. The offices are not open on Mondays and Fridays. Additionally, attendance in the New York City office is necessary at least twice a month.

Key Responsibilities:
Media Relations:
- Identifies and secures diverse media placements for clients.
- Builds and maintains relationships with various media outlets, including trade publications, broadcast channels, and national media.
- Acts as a media contact across the team's accounts.
- Contributes to the creation of strategic public relations plans and campaign initiatives.
- Monitors and identifies suitable editorial calendar opportunities for clients.
Administrative Support:
- Assists the Account Coordinator and interns in reviewing and developing media analysis reports and distributing client media mentions.
- Supports the Account Coordinator in maintaining call notes, agendas, project trackers, and client communication updates.
- Provides assistance to internal team members with other clients, business development, and company projects.
Client Engagement:
- Serves as a primary point of contact for clients and internal teams.
- Participates in onboarding new clients, including developing agendas for discovery meetings and calls.
Content Creation:
- Crafts unique story angles and timely pitches to ensure consistent client visibility.
- Writes press releases, award nominations, social media content, and other materials related to clients.
Brand Representation:
- Acts as a representative of the JConnelly brand, consistently embodying and reflecting the company's core values, approach, and high standards of excellence in all client, media, and public interactions.
Additional Duties: Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of successful experience in a related field.
- Experience in financial public relations is essential.
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks, manage details accurately, follow up with minimal supervision, and complete assignments within deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Proficient in various software applications, including the full Office suite and social media platforms.
- Familiarity with PR-related software such as Cision, Meltwater, Sprout, Hootsuite, etc.
