Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to support the development and troubleshooting of electrical and automation control systems. The ideal candidate will design and implement controls improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement modifications to existing electrical systems, including robotics, automation equipment, and CNC machines.
  • Solicit bids, select contractors, and coordinate activities with internal departments.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule, adhering to safety requirements.
  • Coordinate and supervise major maintenance, emergency repairs, and corrective actions on equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain necessary records and documentation, preparing management reports as needed.
  • Implement and maintain computerized PLC and CNC systems.
  • Collaborate with the IT department and integrated process monitoring systems for continuous improvement.
  • Follow plant standards for filing and maintaining documentation per ISO standards.
  • Review engineering designs for manufacturing feasibility and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Prepare, manage, and implement capital budget projects, supporting Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Facilitate effective communication to plant management on project status.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • BSEE or equivalent technical degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with risk assessments and safety evaluations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with flexibility to adapt to conflicting requirements.
  • Knowledge of city, state, and federal electrical codes, as well as mechanical and safety codes.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming using Siemens TIA Portal and CNC programming using Siemens Step-7 Powerline, Solutionline, and HMI advance.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and ladder diagrams, function block diagrams, STL to effectively troubleshoot systems.
  • Exceptional computer literacy, with Microsoft and AutoCAD skills desired.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment controls.
