LPN - Medical Surgical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Surgical Unit at Gundersen Health System. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.
Job Summary:The LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or provider to provide nursing care for patients and families. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and providing direct patient care. The LPN will also participate in interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities:- Maintain competency and practice according to Gundersen Health System's mission and strategic plan, ANA, and Nurse Practice Act.
- Contribute to assessments through data collection and observe and report patient responses to care, as well as significant symptoms or changes in patient status.
- Follow the Patient's Plan of Care, including the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and standard collaborative practice, and perform delegated patient care.
- Provide direct patient care, assist with ADLs, and encourage self-care, and administer prescribed treatment after verifying accuracy.
- Document nursing interventions and patient/family response, ensuring accurate and timely documentation in compliance with organizational, regulatory, and professional standards and guidelines.
- LPN license to work in the state of Wisconsin.
- Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands-on learning) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
