Job Overview

The Safety and Security Officer is tasked with ensuring the protection of individuals and/or property within designated areas.

Key responsibilities may encompass assisting clients, customers, and visitors on-site, enforcing site policies, reporting safety concerns, and aiding in traffic management, among other duties.

The essential functions and responsibilities of this role may differ based on client needs and business requirements at Aramark locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts internal and external patrols of facilities and adjacent grounds.
  • Locks and unlocks entry points at designated times.
  • Inspects buildings and workspaces during non-operational hours.
  • Monitors surveillance systems, alarm mechanisms, and access control, granting entry to authorized personnel.
  • Performs regular inspections of premises to identify safety infractions and risks.
  • Completes Safety Condition Reports and initiates work orders as necessary.
  • Responds promptly to emergency situations.
  • Establishes communication with local emergency services for assistance.
  • Safeguards found property.
  • Escorts guests, visitors, and staff as needed.
  • Conducts investigations and thorough inspections.
  • Prepares detailed and accurate written reports.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding security matters.
  • Provides non-liable information to guests, visitors, and personnel.
  • Manages parking and vehicle traffic.
  • Exhibits professional conduct at all times.
  • Protects assets and personnel by ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Controls access at building entrances, allowing entry to authorized individuals and guests.
  • Ensures the security of company resources.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a security role is preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to gather and interpret information accurately and complete necessary reporting procedures.
  • Officers should be knowledgeable about search and seizure laws, constitutional rights, investigative techniques, and interviewing methods.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Regular interaction with a diverse range of individuals, including guests and emergency personnel, is required.
  • Must maintain confidentiality in all investigations and incidents.
  • Must possess the appropriate license as per state/local regulations.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • May require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs is necessary.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
