Construction Planning Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Scheduler to join our team at Psomas. As a Scheduler, you will play a critical role in planning and coordinating construction projects for our clients in the aviation and transportation sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed construction planning schedules for new construction and renovation work.
- Review project schedule submittals by Design and Contractor Teams.
- Perform independent analysis of submitted schedules for the Owner, ensuring all schedule submittals meet or exceed the requirements set forth by the contracts.
- Facilitate coordination on interface issues between multiple projects.
- Ensure submitted schedules follow LAWA project code and activity code structure.
- Identify, understand, and apply the relevant sections of the contract to each claim.
- Assist with change order and claims disputes.
- Complete analyses of contractor's delay claims and related time impact analyses within the context of the contract documents and industry practice.
- Examine claims and actual schedule for later or earlier completion.
- Identify related disruption, acceleration, and recovery opportunities.
- Recommend apportionment of the delay and/or acceleration and any additional associated costs in accordance with applicable, accepted practices, such as AACE International issued Recommended Practice No. 29 Forensic Schedule Analysis (RP 29).
- Provide reports of analyses and briefing materials.
- Develop reports that effectively communicate complex project sequencing and/or forensic assessments.
- As applicable to particular claims, provide observations on potential delay mitigation, related schedule issues, communicate to the team, and recommend alternatives.
- Contribute to the advancement of LAWA's goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related technical field.
- 10+ years of scheduling experience with 5+ years in direct support of an active construction project.
- Advanced use of Oracle Primavera software (mastery of Primavera Project Planner Version 6.0 or higher required), along with related software tools such as Schedule Analyzer, Microsoft Project, Claims Digger, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
- Direct forensic scheduling experience to support claims analysis on large-scale, complex heavy civil, vertical, and horizontal projects (projects of at least $200M value and 3-years or greater duration), particularly for assessment of delay claims and potential owner's liabilities.
- Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build.
- Demonstrated experience scheduling for multiple concurrent and interrelated projects.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical and schedule-related information in oral and written form to non-expert audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other subject matter experts and resources to support the owner's evaluation of claims.
- Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction programs, contracts, and the ability to communicate progress and findings to both technical and management-level personnel.
- Proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Professional Licensure & Certifications.
- Prior experience in aviation and large transportation projects, is highly desirable.
