Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Sumner, Washington.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our on-highway trucking fleets, including dump trucks, trailers, and concrete mixers. This role requires a strong understanding of preventative maintenance, repair, and diagnostic techniques for various types of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lubricate and perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform repairs as required to achieve optimum performance, adhering to manufacturer standards.
  • Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose problems and ensure accurate repairs.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.
  • Review DVIRs and create work orders as required.
  • Perform other miscellaneous mechanical and maintenance duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in preventative maintenance of transmissions, rear ends, suspension, steering, brakes, 12v electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on various types of equipment.
  • Understanding of DOT inspection requirements.
  • Experience with formal maintenance programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a nine-bay shop with overhead cranes, good lighting, and heated conditions. The role may also involve working in environments with inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
