Job Title: Diesel Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Cummins. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on engine products in a service shop.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools
Requirements:
  • Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision
  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
Qualifications:

This position requires a completed DMV driving report but no Driver Qualification file. CANDIDATE MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD AND HAVE 2 YEARS DRIVING EXPERIENCE. This position will be part of the FTA pool.

A current valid license is required for this role. Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience. This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.

This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
