Key Responsibilities- Support to Litigation Attorneys
- Provide administrative support to four or more attorneys in employment and labor law matters, including backup support as needed.
- Engage in the work of the attorney by demonstrating knowledge and status of current cases and projects, utilizing available resources to achieve goals.
- Document Management
- Draft, revise, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, documents, and other documents as directed.
- Manage document filing in multiple courts with various requirements, primarily using electronic filing systems.
- Communication and Interactions
- Interact with internal departments, outside agencies, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Handle a wide variety of complex and confidential time-sensitive material with discretion and professionalism.
- Administrative Tasks
- Maintain calendars, CLE reports, and time records for litigation attorneys.
- Book and organize travel arrangements as needed, and assist with expense reimbursement.
- Perform various office and client filing tasks.
- Experience and Skills
- At least 5 years of recent experience in a legal administrative assistant role within a law firm supporting litigation attorneys, with experience in labor and employment law a plus.
- Familiarity with state and federal rules and procedures, as well as procedures with state and federal agencies.
- Strong understanding of technical legal terminology and experience with electronic court filings.
- Proficient with Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with law firm software, including billing, expense, and document management systems.
- Education and Certifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred.
