Suntex Marina Investors, LLC is a leading provider of world-class marina services. We are seeking an experienced Marina Operations Manager to join our team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our marina, ensuring that all aspects of our business are running smoothly and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with directing the Guest Services team operations under the supervision of the General Manager or the Guest Services Manager, ensuring the team provides world-class customer service.
  • Facilitate training for the Guest Services team so they can successfully promote sales, rentals, and understand the Suntex Marinas expectation for world-class customer service.
  • Ensure marina customers are satisfied with services provided.
  • Achieve and exceed budgeted store revenue while controlling expenses.
  • Create retail, boat rental, and slip sales programs.
  • Dock walks as needed to ensure everything is running smoothly.
  • Ensure that our rental fleet and water sports equipment are clean, in perfect working order, giving our guests the best experience on the water.
  • Assist with hiring and managing the Guest Services team to assist in driving top-line sales while also controlling expenses.
  • Daily/weekly ordering of soft and hard line merchandise for the location.
  • Create and drive sales promotions to assist in achieving sales revenue.
  • Develop creative ways to market the store and boat rental.
  • Implement fun sales contests for the Guest Services team.
  • Stay up-to-date on all marine products to supply accurate information to our customers.
  • Rotate inventory monthly.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that the store is neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Complete and submit a full physical inventory every quarter, with department cycle counts per month.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures.

Operating Responsibilities:

The Marina Operations Manager must have excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy, with the ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets.

The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to swim or wear a personal flotation device in emergency situations.
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to operate general computer equipment including laptop, keyboard, and mouse with ease.
  • Must be able to utilize a phone, both desk and mobile, with ease.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk setting.
  • Must be able to use eyes for viewing computer monitors and analyzing data for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk outside in various weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
  • Must be able to climb stairs, both indoors and outside in various weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and great sales skills.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Self-starter.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
