Job Summary

Clean and maintain the facilities of the N.C. Community College System to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean classrooms, bathrooms, offices, break rooms, halls, and other areas as assigned.
  • Dust, mop, vacuum, and dust mop as needed.
  • Clean windows and keep utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Three to twelve months experience in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Work Environment

The work environment is typically moderate with occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals and physical demands including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
