Psychology Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified PT College Transfer Psychology Instructor to join our team at Johnston Community College. As a part-time faculty member, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality learning experience for our students on a semester basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in assigned classes in coordination with the Department Chair and/or Associate Vice President and established course model syllabus/syllabi.
• Teach assigned classes and create an effective learning environment.
• Maintain accurate attendance and scholastic records of students.
• Use teaching methods designed for a variety of learning styles and assist with maintaining a classroom environment emphasizing safety, good housekeeping, and equipment security.
• Participate in communications with the college and department and meet deadlines as required.
• Submit required reports and participate in the college's assessment process.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Psychology or related discipline or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Psychology.
• One year teaching experience.
• Ability to demonstrate competence in areas expected to teach and ability to plan, organize and instruct quality educational programs.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to exercise individual initiative, independent actions, and sound judgment.

Working Conditions:

This position requires some synchronous, face-to-face instruction and the ability to access print material and utilize the information effectively.
