Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Assembler to join our team at Powell Houston-Canton. As a key member of our assembly team, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the assembly process of various products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembly and Quality Control: Build and assemble mechanical components for Switchgear and/or Breaker units according to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a small team of employees to complete specific tasks assigned by the lead assembler and/or supervisor.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training employees and provide guidance and support to ensure they meet quality standards and production deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot any assembly issues and assist in the development and improvement of assembly procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Identify and track shortages and assist in processing ship loose and communicating with QA/QC.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma is preferred.
  • Experience: 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Ability to read a tape measure, knowledge of system software, and safely use variety of hand/power tools.
  • Physical Demands: Able to lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques and meet physical lifting demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Blueprint Reading: Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Mechanical Assembly Skills: Skilled in mechanical assembly and able to complete complex engineering changes.
  • Shop Math Skills: Proficient in shop math and able to perform calculations accurately.
Working Conditions:
  • Safety Sensitive Position: This is a safety-sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Salary:

$16 - $20 / hr
