We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a key member of our psychiatric unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist professional staff in the care of psychiatric patients, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Facilitate patient activities of daily living, including vital sign checks and charting.
- Collaborate with team members to evaluate and care for patients, applying physical restraints or seclusion under physician or RN supervision when necessary.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles, assessing and interpreting patient data to provide age-specific treatment.
- Participate in safety education programs, root cause analyses, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and reduce errors.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Certificate Program in Certified Nursing Assistant or some college-level social science preferred.
- Less than 1 year of relevant experience required; Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
- Certified Nurse Aide certification preferred; must provide clearance per the Child Protective Services Law amended by PA Act 33 of 1985.
