Job Summary:

WellSpan Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician III to join our team at WellSpan Philhaven in Mount Gretna, PA. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will provide therapeutic interventions, client care, and case management services to support the successful discharge of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute individual treatment plans for clients

Provide day-to-day oversight of all therapeutic activities

Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques

Collaborate with treatment teams to provide input into treatment plans for individual clients

Orient family members to the nature of therapeutic services and the specific program

Promote positive family relations and effective parental strategies

Manage behavioral crises, including 1:1 observation, redirection, physical restraint, and team crisis interventions

Write behavioral management plans for acute patients in cooperation with treatment team recommendations

Complete assessments as needed

Assist with medication administration and recording as directed

Communicate relevant client progress and participate in weekly treatment team planning

Maintain ongoing professional relationships with personnel from schools, public agencies, and mental health and drug and alcohol treatment facilities

Address and resolve client funding matters

Conduct inter-agency meetings as necessary

Collaborate in appropriate treatment and discharge plans with clients, guardians, and community agencies

Provide transportation to and from the program for clients who meet requirements and are in need of transportation

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline, including social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, or activity therapies

1 year of behavioral health experience or 1 year of social science experience

Basic Life Support certification upon hire

Driver's License upon hire

Working Environment:

Occupational hazards may be present

Exposure to bloodborne pathogens may occur

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills

Analytical skills

Organization and time management

Mental and visual ability to observe client behavior and document findings

Teaching ability

Customer service awareness and capability

Knowledge of current activities, therapy principles, and group counseling skills/techniques
