About the Role

">

As a DC Shipper at Natural Grocers, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient pallet preparation of company-wide outbound orders from the Distribution Center. This position combines orders from multiple departments, wraps and loads finished pallets onto trucks, prepares bills of lading, and communicates loads with carriers and store managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Combines finished orders from various departments and prepares pallets for shipping
  • Distributes produce bags, office supplies, fliers, and other promotional items to stores
  • Prepares, wraps, and stages pallets for designated routes
  • Provides accurate and timely notification to carriers for pallet pick-up
  • Prepares Bills of Lading for each load; loads trucks
  • Communicates with carriers and store managers to arrange for special deliveries
  • Works with managers and DC staff to maintain shipping accuracy
  • Receives, stores, and distributes cross-dock products as needed
  • Keeps record of outbound orders and completes and files shipping logs
  • Loads recycle pallet trailers and schedules pick-up of trailers
  • Keeps the dock area clean and organized, logs, and files daily housekeeping records
  • Assists with pulling orders in Bulk and Grocery departments as needed

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of warehouse functions with previous experience required
  • Must have current valid Colorado driver license
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and concisely required
  • Experienced forklift operation required (must be certified); includes electric pallet jack and extended reach truck preferred
  • Strong time management skills required
  • Ability to multi-task, with strong attention to detail; accuracy and thoroughness are must
  • Flexibility with working hours to accommodate warehouse needs
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to assist in other departments as needed

This role requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs., occasional pushing or pulling up to 30 lbs., constant computer use, constant sitting, using fine motor manipulations, and reaching outward for the duration of the work shift, frequent gripping, bending, twisting, and turning, and occasional walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching above chest as needed.
