Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutritionist II to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As a key member of our Public Health Division, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the health of nutritionally at-risk individuals and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen applicants to determine eligibility for the WIC Program
  • Prescribe food packages and provide nutrition education to participants
  • Assess participants' nutritional risks and develop individual care plans
  • Refer participants to other health and social services and provide follow-up support
  • Document nutrition services provided and maintain accurate records
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a social, community, health, education, or nutritional field
  • Two years of experience in nutrition or a related field
  • Valid Driver's License and Defensive Driving Course Certification
Working Conditions

This position requires working in an office setting with extensive computer and phone usage. You may be required to drive and lift up to 50 pounds. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and moderate office noise, heat, cold, and smells.
