Product Development Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Development Associate to join our R&D team in Chicago, Illinois. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing new products from concept to commercialization, conducting plant trials, and performing experiments to prepare results for analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new products from concept to commercialization
  • Conduct plant trials and new product startups
  • Perform experiments and prepare results for analysis
  • Develop new product prototypes
  • Support the team with product cutting, plant trials, and testing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field required
  • 1 year relevant work experience inclusive of internships or co-ops
  • Requires knowledge in food product design, formulation, ingredient functionality and interaction, process design, product scale-up, plant testing and commercialization
  • Bakery experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in and around cramped/confined spaces
  • Climbing via stairs or ladders
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic extended workdays including loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions
  • Exposure to food tasting and smells, including all food allergens
  • Use of tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Travel may be up to 30% as needed
