About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Plans Examiner to join our team at NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC. As a Fire Plans Examiner, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with fire and life safety codes and standards in commercial and multi-family occupancies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire and life safety inspections to ensure compliance with adopted fire and life safety codes and standards.
  • Enforce Florida Fire Prevention Code, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, Florida State Statute, and the Rules of the State Fire Marshal.
  • Survey businesses and commercial structures for hazardous materials and communicate information to the hazardous materials coordinator.
  • Inspect, test, and accept fire protection systems as installed in existing and new structures.
  • Conduct Certificate of Occupancy inspections in conjunction with other enforcement branches of the County.
Requirements
  • State of Florida Municipal Fire Safety Inspection and Plans Examiner Certificate.
  • A valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire.
