Job Summary

The Sr. Surgical Technologist is a key member of the Perioperative Services team at KPC GLOBAL MEDICAL CENTERS INC. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgery, utilizing established protocols and techniques.
  • Assist patients with surgery, maintaining aseptic techniques and adhering to infection control policies.
  • Collaborate with other personnel to achieve department objectives, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Identify and address equipment malfunctions, reporting repairs as necessary.
  • Participate in maintaining accurate counts of instruments, sutures, and sponges.
  • Provide comfort and support to pre-operative patients, demonstrating sensitivity to their care and privacy.
  • Handle human blood and other potentially infectious materials, adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Surgical Technician, with a minimum of 2 years preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Completion of a course for surgical technicians is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical abilities, including heavy lifting, and perceptive acuity, to satisfactorily perform assigned duties.
