Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced EHS Supervisor to join our team at Veolia Water Milwaukee. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the EHS&S Program, ensuring compliance with Veolia EHS&S policies, and developing and implementing site-specific EHS&S programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate EHS programs for the Milwaukee Project, ensuring compliance with Veolia EHS&S requirements and OSHA standards.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and chemical spill/release incidents, and prepare reports for internal and external regulatory agencies.
  • Interface with corporate EHS&S teams to implement corporate initiatives at the local level.
  • Review and implement company EHS&S policies and procedures.
  • Support plant management in safety compliance initiatives, accident prevention, workers' compensation management, incident analysis, safety and environmental auditing, and EHS&S training.
  • Monitor and track EHS&S training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Manage accident reporting, investigations, and reviews, analyzing data and proposing intervention strategies.
  • Support workers' compensation claims management and interact with corporate WC resources to reduce case costs.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for project staff on EHS&S-related matters.
  • Assist in developing EHS&S budgets and goal setting.
  • Develop and implement Milwaukee-specific EHS&S programs and policies.
  • Monitor safety requirements, industry consensus safety standards, and industry safety statistics.
  • Complete monthly EHS&S reports to project management and regional or corporate EHS&S leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety Management or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in Safety Management and Training, with a focus on water and wastewater treatment industry.
  • 5+ years of experience with EHS&S training delivery and training program management.
  • Strong organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Federal OSHA and security regulations, as well as Wisconsin regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, adapt to frequent re-prioritization, and drive results.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of Veolia management and staff to achieve required EHS&S Metrics.
  • Ability to train, coach, and influence employee behavior on safe work practices and environmental compliance excellence.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite.
  • Maintain specialized knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and industry consensus safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Willingness and ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
  • Ability to develop and effectively present employee training classes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in OSHA Training Institute, CSP, CHMM, or other recognized industrial safety organizations.
  • Trained in AED/CPR, First Aid, and ability to deliver training.
