Key Responsibilities:


Collaborate with planning, engineering, and support teams to provide expert guidance in interpreting and applying nondestructive testing (NDT) requirements for both developmental and production initiatives.

Organize, coordinate, and execute setups and inspections while overseeing the training of fellow inspectors. Ensure maintenance of necessary Level II/III certifications, including all required reliability demonstrations.


Thoroughly review and verify complex procedures, drawings, work instructions, and specifications to identify errors, collaborating with planning and engineering to suggest modifications that enhance efficiency and methods.

Propose design improvements for nondestructive testing equipment.

Utilize written and verbal instructions, along with various quality assurance documents, inspection methods, and standards, to plan, set up, calibrate, and conduct capability checks and inspections on intricate hardware.

Employ precision measurement and optical equipment as needed to assess acceptability and detail defect size and location.

Prepare parts for NDT inspection processes, selecting or designing suitable holding devices and recommending modifications for fixtures and tools to accommodate unique or irregularly shaped components.

Generate comprehensive reports detailing inspections conducted, indicating any defects identified during testing. Make acceptance or rejection decisions based on the interpretation of relevant standards.

Complete quality review orders or inspection discrepancy records, marking parts and documentation to indicate defects and manage unacceptable components according to established procedures.

Investigate root causes and collaborate with teams to implement effective corrective actions.

Responsible for accurately entering relevant information into all computer systems, adhering to Point of Origin Material Review Board Procedures to maintain historical data.

Finalize and endorse all necessary documentation to confirm the acceptance or rejection of hardware.


Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is essential.

Completion of a 2-3 Technical Certification or Trade School program is required.

NAS410 Level II Certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) is mandatory; Penetrant Testing (PT) certification is advantageous.

Comprehensive knowledge of nondestructive testing practices, procedures, and applications, along with dimensional inspection methods, is necessary.

Ability to perform calculations based on established formulas and work from specifications and inspection standards is required.

Basic understanding of alloy types and material defect characteristics is essential.

Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to navigate manufacturing and quality systems is required.

Experience and additional certification requirements will vary based on the level of the position filled.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in NDT inspection of hardware involving brazing, casting, welding, and forging material conditions is preferred.

Prior experience in the aerospace sector is a plus.

Level III Certification in digital radiography is desirable.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:


While performing job duties, employees frequently use hands for handling and manipulating materials.

Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, and kneel.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Possible exposure to x-rays and intermittent exposure to various chemical solutions during processing and inspection.

Occasional noise exposure in testing areas.

Personal protective equipment is mandatory.

Ability to hear and possess visual acuity, depth perception, and distinguish basic and shaded colors is required.

Computer usage is essential.

Position level will be determined based on the education and experience of the selected candidate.
