Position Summary

As the IT Transformation Lead at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, you will play a crucial role in driving the development and implementation of Lean and Agile transformation strategies, plans, and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and goals. This role will identify and assess opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, nurture and guide teams across IT, fostering a Lean and Agile culture by modeling the core Lean and Agile values and principles.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Oakland General Office (OGO) 2-3 times a week or as business needs require.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company provides a salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in Pacific Gas and Electric Company's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $129,000

Bay Area Maximum: $207,000

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying areas of opportunities for Lean and Agile transformation; leading, defining, developing strategies and documentation to support IT transformation toward a more Lean and Agile mindset promoting flexibility, adaptability, and a focus on customer value.
  • Evaluating current Lean and Agile practices, maturity levels, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement; making recommendations based on observations and evaluations for improving Lean and Agile across IT.
  • Creating actionable plans outlining steps and milestones for process improvements and Lean/Agile adoption; implementing strategies, plans, and roadmaps.
  • Building tailored plans for coaching sessions with teams and leaders, focusing on personal and professional development within the Lean and Agile context to improve maturity across IT.
  • Ensuring that Lean and Agile initiatives align with the organization's strategic objectives, helping leadership to prioritize and allocate resources effectively.
  • Documenting best practices, case studies, standards, and lessons learned that provide practical guidance for Lean and Agile implementation.
  • Educating teams and leadership on Lean and Agile principles, frameworks (like Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe), and practices; this includes conducting workshops, training sessions, and ongoing coaching.
  • Evaluating the current state, selecting the most appropriate Lean practices/Agile framework, and developing recommendations tailored to IT needs.
  • Mentoring team members on specific Lean and Agile roles (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner) and helping them develop the necessary skills for success.
  • Working with executives and leaders to help them understand their role in a Lean/Agile organization; this includes fostering Agile leadership styles and supporting decision-making that aligns with Lean/Agile principles.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective feedback loops, helping teams to continuously improve through regular retrospectives and data-driven insights.
  • Defining and documenting key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of the Lean and Agile transformation, making necessary adjustments based on these insights.
  • Assessing and developing strategies to scale Agile practices across multiple teams or departments; this could involve implementing frameworks like SAFe, LeSS, or Disciplined Agile.
  • Facilitating collaboration across teams, breaking down silos, and ensuring that Agile practices are consistent and integrated throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Job-related experience, 7 years.

Desired:

  • Experience as Agile Coach, 5 years.
