Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Launch Manager to join our team at La-Z-Boy Incorporated. As a key member of our Residential Division, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams in delivering program/project objectives that meet business needs and support our brand strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project development strategies, schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Project Sponsor, Steering Team, and Business Lead to define product/project requirements, scope, and success metrics.
  • Manage projects to achieve expected business value and return on investment, while continuously tracking program/project activities, issues, and risks.
  • Lead Gate review meetings and formal project reviews with Senior Management to ensure project progress and success.
  • Work with the PMO Leader and other Program Managers to continuously improve the structured development process.
  • Assist in the creation of project-related funding and actively participate in the ideation and tracking of Innovation projects for R&D.
  • Provide mentorship assistance to other Project Managers and Operations teams in the use of structured development process.
  • Develop and deliver training workshops on structured development process and project management fundamentals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated high level of skill with interpersonal relationships and communication.
  • Strong presentation skills, effective planning, organizational, and mentoring skills.
  • Highly competent in estimating, planning, tracking, and reporting project status, managing change requests and project scope.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities under project deadlines.
  • Comfortable utilizing both internal and external resources to complete project assignments.
  • Internal business knowledge preferred with an emphasis on project integration experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook).
Preferred Requirements
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired.
  • Certified Project Management Workshop Leader desired.
  • Certified Problem Solving & Decision Making Workshop leader desired.
  • Experience with APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) or similar product development methodology is highly desired.
  • Experience launching products in a plant environment (Manufacturing), with focus on Quality, is desired.
Work Environment

This is an office environment with no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands. The incumbent will be required to sit, repetitive hand motion (such as typing), hear, listen, talk, stand, walk, and balance. Seldom required to bend, stoop, climb stairs, climb ladders, kneel, squat, and reach overhead, push, pull, or Lift – up to 50 pounds. Not required to Crouch, crawl, or shovel.
