Home of Guiding Hands is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential services to individuals with developmental disabilities in the San Diego and Imperial Counties. We offer a range of programs, including residential care, respite services, and day programs, all tailored to meet individual needs and promote independence and community integration.
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. In this role, you will provide personalized care to clients in a setting that respects their rights, dignity, and freedom of choice. You will implement programs and services outlined in the client's individualized service plan and ensure accurate completion of all necessary reports, data collection, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for clients, upholding their privacy and dignity.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure the highest quality of care.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration, while promoting their independence and well-being.
- Monitor client health and behavior changes, reporting any concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with licensing regulations and agency policies.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant Diploma preferred.
- Proficiency in English language and excellent communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- CPR/First Aid certification required.
- Ability to lift and move clients as needed.
