Caregiver for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

About Home of Guiding Hands
Home of Guiding Hands is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality, individualized services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. From residential care to respite services and day programs, HGH aims to meet the diverse needs of each individual while promoting independence and community integration.
Caregiver Responsibilities- Ensure client safety through supervision and prompt response to emergencies.
- Support individuals in engaging in meaningful activities both at home and within the community.
- Facilitate communication using various methods, including verbal, sign language, and visual aids.
- Assist clients with daily living tasks such as grooming, meal preparation, medication administration, and more.
- Manage challenging behaviors according to the guidance of primary caregivers.
- Accompany individuals to appointments and therapy sessions.
- Travel within designated areas to assist clients at various locations.
- At least six months of experience in a caregiving role.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Obtain necessary clearances and certifications.
- Possess a valid California Driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in English and basic computer skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work independently.
- Demonstrate good judgment, reliability, and time management skills.
This role involves working with individuals in various environments. It requires physical abilities such as seeing, hearing, walking, bending, lifting objects, and more.
