Our TechnologyDELFI Diagnostics' platform relies on fragmentomics, which reveals that cancer cells are more chaotic than normal cells, leaving behind characteristic patterns and characteristics of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) fragments. Our first laboratory-developed screening test, FirstLook Lung, uses millions of data points to reliably identify individuals who may have cancer detected through low-dose CT, with a negative predictive value of 99.7 percent.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing high complexity laboratory testing for cancer detection via next-generation sequencing and possibly general Chemistry and Immunology testing. You will work closely with automation, assay development, and technology transfer scientists to build scalable infrastructure within the Clinical Laboratory.
You will be part of a cross-functional team working to launch products for clinical use. This position is a Tuesday - Saturday position with standard working hours.
Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests, procedures, analyses, and resulting of patient results per approved procedures
- Independently identify and troubleshoot high complexity problems that may adversely affect test performance
- Perform and document reagent manufacturing and qualification per approved procedures
- Verify instrument performance through inspection, calibration, and maintenance per approved procedures
- Organize and conduct the training of new and existing laboratory personnel on current and new procedures
- Aid the Manager/Sr. Director with delegating tasks to CLAs and other CLSs, and monitoring lab process status as needed
- Report all concerns of test quality and/or safety to the Laboratory Director, Supervisor or Safety Officer
- Troubleshoot high complexity issues, improving the function of the lab
- Lead the team through Regulatory inspections
- Assign and plan work schedules
- Lead cross-functional projects
- Must possess an active and valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Generalist or CGMBS license issued by the state of California
- Must fulfill requirements stated in 42 CFR or
- Must fulfill requirements stated in the College of American Pathologists Molecular Pathology Checklist
- BS in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Science, or equivalent
- Ability to communicate complex technical results to a cross-functional audience
- Desire to learn about cancer genetics and contribute to a diverse, collaborative, and mutually respectful working environment
- 4+ years of experience as a practicing CLS
$135,000 - $150,000 a year
