Job Description

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Learning Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our students with diverse needs receive the support and accommodations they require to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student
  • Provide small-group instruction and support to students in general education settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate the Response to Intervention (RtI) process
  • Communicate effectively with families and stakeholders to ensure seamless support for students
  • Participate in regular meetings to review student progress and adjust IEPs as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification (ESE K-12)
  • At least one year of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
  • Passing a background check, as required by law
  • Florida Reading Endorsement
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional certifications in other subject areas supported by the Learning Specialist
  • Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
  • ESOL Endorsement (or coursework in progress)
