Education Apprentice

Uncommon Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Apprentice Teacher. This role provides a unique opportunity for talented individuals with limited or no teaching experience to explore the field of education and gain hands-on practice and training to become a successful full-time classroom teacher.
Responsibilities:- Observe and learn from Master Teachers and co-teach with teacher-leaders
- Provide in-house substitute teaching coverage for teachers and support teachers with tutoring, grading, and individual or small group student instruction
- Assist with teaching Enrichment classes, organizing student events, and developing mentoring relationships with students
- Participate in summer and school-year professional development and regular meetings with an instructional coach
- Bachelor's degree required; background in education not necessary, but demonstrated passion for working with K-12 students is essential
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Relentless commitment to the mission of educating urban students and belief in Uncommon's core beliefs and educational philosophy
- Competitive salary range: $57,000 - $89,000 based on experience and qualifications
