Job Summary:

Under general supervision, you will dispense compounds, procure, store, and distribute pharmacy products, while also providing direction to pharmacy interns and non-licensed personnel. Your expertise will be essential in resolving operational problems, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dispense, compound, procure, store, package, and distribute pharmacy products according to legal requirements, established policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate and resolve potential drug therapy problems identified through any available sources, including pharmacy information systems.
  • Provide direction to pharmacy interns, technicians, and other personnel by making suggestions, answering questions, and resolving professional and clerical problems.
  • Interview patients to obtain information regarding drug use, allergies, and sensitivities, and advise them on significant precautions, proper drug therapy, and administration.
  • Confer with medical personnel concerning care and treatment of patients, including clinical diagnosis, drug combinations, and dosage forms.
  • Maintain records of drugs and controlled substances as required by federal and state law.
  • Accept responsibility for resolving operational problems, including resolving professional problems related to prescription interpretation, drug furnishing irregularities, and service complaints.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy with completed pharmacy internship.
  • Pharmacist License (Colorado).
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities, and the ability to understand Kaiser Permanente customer needs.
