Job Summary:

As a customer service agent at GAT Airline Ground Support, you will be the first point of contact for passengers, providing a positive and professional experience. This role involves checking in and ticketing passengers, escorting them to and from aircraft, and resolving customer complaints in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Greet and assist all customers over the phone and in person, providing excellent customer assistance and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Flight Announcements: Announce both incoming and outbound flights, ensuring passengers are aware of their flight status.
  • Transaction Processing: Handle credit card and personal check transactions with accuracy, properly accounting for all collections and conducting airline close-out procedures.
  • Baggage Handling: Accept and process checked baggage weighing up to 100 lbs. and placed on conveyor belts.
  • Airport Operations: Operate jetways to place them in position prior to aircraft arrival and lift, open, close, and secure aircraft doors.
  • Computer Systems: Use airline computer systems to provide flight arrival and departure information, ticketing and flight boarding documents, lost or damaged baggage documentation, and cargo tracking information.
  • Physical Demands: Stand and work in one location for up to four hours at a time, and may be responsible for escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport.
Requirements:
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience, with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Language: Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to stand for long periods of time, occasionally lift bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality in person and via telephone.
  • Computer Skills: Possess entry-level computer skills.
  • Background Check: Pass an extensive post-offer pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history record check required by federal law.
  • Availability: Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
