Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Middle Grades Social Studies Educator to join our team at Muscogee County Schools. As a key member of our educational community, you will be responsible for facilitating student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing state and district-approved curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Student Progress and Support: Advise parents and/or legal guardians of student progress, and adhere to local school procedures and regulations in a supportive manner.
  2. Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and various community agencies to promote a positive school environment that enhances student learning.
  3. Instructional Strategies: Assess student needs, progress, expectations, goals, etc., and provide instruction that is appropriate and communicates responsibly with all individuals and groups.
  4. Professional Development: Seek to improve through professional development and evaluation activities, and perform other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a job-related field.
  • Certification/License: Valid Georgia Teacher certification or eligibility for GA certification in Social Studies.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication, instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners, student management.
