JOB ANNOUNCEMENT


The Utah County Assessor's office plays a crucial role in the accurate classification of all properties within the county. This includes collaborating with the Recorder's office to associate ownership with properties, determining taxable values for all properties subject to taxation, and compiling essential data into reports utilized by the Auditor's office for tax rate calculations and the Treasurer's office for collections.


POSITION: Commercial Property Appraiser I

The Opportunity:


Under the general supervision of the Commercial Appraiser Supervisor and in compliance with State Code, this role involves conducting commercial appraisal activities. The appraiser will engage in all facets of establishing fair market values for the county's assessment roll.


Starting Pay: Grade 723 Step A: $ Step G: $32.14 Hourly

Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Candidates will possess some of the following attributes:

  • Ability to obtain an appraiser trainee designation with the Utah Division of Real Estate within one (1) year of employment, unless already licensed as an appraiser. The time frame may be adjusted based on class availability from the Utah State Tax Commission.
  • Must obtain an Appraisal License with the Utah Division of Real Estate within two (2) years of employment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a valid State of Utah driver's license within sixty (60) days of employment.
  • Selected candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
