Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at CARTI. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and monitoring of various disease states by performing diagnostic testing on patient samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in diagnosis and/or monitoring of disease states.
  • Follow standardized procedures and prepare samples for testing.
  • Analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
  • Operate laboratory equipment, including analyzers and other equipment, by calibrating, completing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, and expediting orders.
  • Provide medical technology information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies and protocols.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect the organization by keeping information confidential.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university plus one year internship in an accredited school of Medical Technology.
  • Registered as a Medical Technologist through ASCP, NCA, or AMT within one year of hire.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, basic computer skills, and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures, plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks, and demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
Work Environment

This position involves potential exposure to infectious diseases. Colleagues are offered appropriate vaccinations and safety training.
