Maintenance - Electrician

International Paper is seeking a skilled Maintenance - Electrician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment in accordance with local and national electrical codes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Understand industrial automation and controls, and read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
  • Proficient in using power tools and hand tools, and experience working with 12-24VDC, VAC systems.
  • Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment for defects, malfunctions, and safety hazards.
  • Selects, installs, and pulls wiring to required equipment locations, making connections, testing circuitry, and performing related installation processes.
  • Basic understanding of PLC and HMI operation, and basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups, and collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects requiring multiple skill sets.
  • High degree of attention to detail, and ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced team environment, and work within deadlines.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, and accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork.
  • Trouble-shoot and solve problems, and perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements:
  • Current Journeyman Electrician License for the state of Texas or actively participating in an electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant regulations.
  • Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician or similar role.
  • Electrical Aptitude, Troubleshooting Expertise, and Mechanical knowledge and experience.
  • Must be able to pass an advanced industrial skills and instrumentation/electrician knowledge test prior to interview process.
