Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Technician II - On Call to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient processing and distribution of medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Decontaminate, disassemble, and reassemble a wide variety of surgical instruments using appropriate techniques.
  • Utilize the Intelligent Instrumentation Management Computer system to track instruments throughout our facilities.
  • Inventory and restock departmental supplies, including instruments, sterilization chemicals, and other related items.
  • Ensure patient safety by consistently using two patient identifiers and procedural time outs.
Requirements:
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
  • Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution - Technician Certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to understand Kaiser Permanente customer needs.
