Denver Public Schools is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining District HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain District HVAC systems, including water and air cooled chillers, cooling towers, and roof top DX AHUs.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment, using blueprints and schematics to ensure compliance with building codes and standards.
  • Prepare and clean up job sites, ensuring safety for yourself and others, and dispose of waste and flammable materials.
  • Calibrate and install pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls made by different manufacturers.
  • Operate tools and equipment for combustion controls.
  • Review work orders, prioritize tasks, and determine supplies for repair and purchase supplies using the District purchase order system.
  • Perform work and cross-train in at least one other trade, as an apprentice.
  • Assist with snow removal efforts on a 24-hour on-call basis and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience, with District-specific training or equivalent required for all levels.
  • Valid C.F.C. license and Journeyman Refrigeration Operator Certificate.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and meet District insurability standards.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
