Instrument Technician Job Description

Aspen Technical Staffing is seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to join our team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of instrumentation and automation services, including troubleshooting, calibration, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation functionality and I/O operation to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Repair instrumentation, typically involving calibration using a variety of meters and tools.
  • Set up new instrumentation and calibrate specifications using schematics and drawings.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
  • Assist with related installation and maintenance projects for automating large industrial processes.
  • Use computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and produce reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers to test and commission PLC systems.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide services as required.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and automation principles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex instrumentation systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
