Job Overview and Responsibilities
PARK OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST – COASTAL DIVISION
This role is part of a competitive selection process. Applications will be accepted from individuals on a certification list, as well as those seeking transfer, reinstatement, or training opportunities, in accordance with the applicable agreements.
The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Park Maintenance Supervisor, contributing to the upkeep of park facilities and grounds.
The Park Operations Support Specialist will oversee and collaborate with seasonal staff to carry out essential maintenance tasks for park buildings and landscapes. Responsibilities include assisting skilled tradespeople in the upkeep, modification, and repair of park infrastructure, grounds, and equipment. The primary focus will be on maintaining the District Office complex and associated facilities. The incumbent may also provide support across the Coastal Sector, including the groundskeeping team. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to comprehend both written and verbal instructions are essential. Successful candidates will be required to purchase and wear a designated uniform and comply with grooming standards.
Training and development opportunities may be available.
A valid Class C driver's license is required for this position. Candidates must provide details regarding their driver's license on their application, including number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements or restrictions.
The work schedule will typically be from Tuesday to Saturday, with hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
This position is not eligible for telecommuting.
The selected individual will undergo a background check process, including Live Scan fingerprinting, prior to employment.

Working Environment
The role involves moderate exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and noise. The work setting may present some physical risks, necessitating adherence to basic safety protocols. Outdoor work is a regular aspect of this position.
Special Requirements
A valid California Driver's License is required. Candidates must provide details regarding their CDL on their application. A background investigation must be completed prior to hiring. Medical clearance is required before employment. Compliance with uniform and grooming standards is mandatory.This position is subject to drug and alcohol testing based on reasonable suspicion as outlined in relevant regulations.
