About the Role

This position is part of the Division of Professions and Occupations (DPO) within the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting complex investigations of suspected violations of administrative, civil, and criminal statutes enforced by the Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing facts and evidence obtained through investigation to determine the pertinent information to be included in written reports and presentations.
  • Determining appropriate outreach and education strategies to educate external stakeholders, including law enforcement, regarding the investigative and enforcement role of the agency.
  • Investigating sensitive circumstances such as those involving sexual abuse, psychiatric problems, or drug or alcohol abuse.
  • Evaluating questions presented during required testimony in a fast-paced deposition or court proceeding.
  • Educating and communicating with the general public and regulated professions regarding the investigative and enforcement role of the agency.
  • Assisting in the prosecution of administrative, civil, and criminal violations of state and federal law by the Attorney General's Office and other law enforcement agencies.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have six (6) years of full-time relevant professional investigative work experience, including conducting investigations, gathering and analyzing evidence, and presenting clear and concise oral and written reports. Alternatively, the candidate may have a combination of education and experience, including an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated professional experience working in the state government position performing investigations.
  • Demonstrated professional experience working in a law enforcement agency or working in private and/or fraud investigations.
  • Demonstrated experience working as a mental health professional, providing care, and/or evaluating patients.
  • Demonstrated professional experience testifying in court providing data and information gathered during the investigative process.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the adult and/or child protection-related field, performing casework/investigative services.
  • Demonstrated experience in nursing or a medical-related field that provided comprehensive care for patients.
